Setting up a warehouse [Previous | Next]

Warehouses -> Setting up a warehouse

When SalesWarp is initialized for the first time, a default internal warehouse and an FBA warehouse will be created automatically. We will start by configuring the default internal warehouse.

NOTE: configuration of both the internal and FBA warehouse will need to be completed for first time use

Under the warehouses tab, click on the warehouses sub tab.

This is where all of your warehouses can be viewed in SalesWarp.

Click on the pencil icon in the default warehouse row.

The settings found here are what you will edit to setup your internal warehouse:

Name

You can rename this if youd like or leave it default. Whatever works best for you.

Default Avg Cogs percent

If you have a historical Cogs percent, you can enter it here.

Status

If you are not ready or able to ship product from this location, set to disabled.

Type

Internal (this setting is already selected and cannot be changed)

Consider Inventory for sale

if not ready or able to ship product from this location, uncheck.

The last step will be to enter in the address(s) that are relative to your internal warehouse, as well as shipping, receiving, and return preferences for each address. Select the address/contact tab on the left side of the page to find the warehouse address section. Once there, click the pencil icon to edit the warehouse address and contact information.

NOTE: if you wish to have separate locations for shipping, receiving, and returns, you can choose to add additional locations by clicking the “Add new address/contact button. If you choose to set a new default warehouse location, simply click a hollow star in the shipping, receiving, or returns columns of any address to designate it for that type of process location. A solid star indicates that address has been designated as the default.

Be sure to hit save once you’re done!

NOTE: Once you begin stocking and selling from your warehouse, additional tabs will appear on the left where you can drill into product, order, inventory, shipping, and receiving details.

Notes for setting up an FBA warehouse:

You should configure an FBA warehouse just like you would with an internal warehouse, with a few exceptions:

The warehouse type will be set to FBA

Under “Use credentials from”, select amazon from the drop-down menu

Do NOT flag inventory as available for sale. If you leave as available for sale, you risk overselling product that does not reside in your warehouse.
